SVP, Director of Construction

Gary Lovesky is a Senior Vice President – Director of Construction with GID Development Group.  Gary Lovesky has over 35 years experience in all levels of the construction industry from superintendent through project executive. He has worked on a range of projects from individual residences to urban mixed-use complexes. These projects involved a wide variety of asset classes, construction technologies, building materials, and logistics.  Mr. Lovesky is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction within the GID Development Group.  Specifically this work includes construction budgeting and cost analysis, schedule and logistics review, contract creation and negotiation, permitting.

Mr. Lovesky has worked with several of the nation’s foremost construction firms and has been involved in a variety of high profile projects involving residential, retail, office, hotel, parking, public spaces, and infrastructure components. Prior to GID, he was an executive for one of the largest general contractors in the country, Suffolk Construction Company. At Suffolk, he held lead responsibility for the planning, execution and delivery of large urban projects. He directed all aspects of projects including technical, logistical, legal, financial and political dimensions of the construction process. Mr. Lovesky led construction efforts for mixed-use, residential, and office high rise projects such as the 740,000 sf Archstone-Northpoint project in Cambridge MA, the 1 million sf Trilogy project in Boston, MA, and the 750,000 sf 100 Cambridge Street project in Boston, MA. Prior to Suffolk, Mr. Lovesky worked for Beacon Construction Company (now Skanska Construction Company) where he was involved with the construction of one of the nation’s most notable mixed-use projects – Boston’s 1 million sf Rowes Wharf development.

Mr. Lovesky has an AB from Harvard University (1979) and an MS in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1986). He holds Builder’s Licenses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
